Established on the grounds of Hijli Detention Camp in 1950, IIT Kharagpur is famous for its world class education along with world's longest platform of Kharagpur railway station. The real thing is to strive qualitatively reaching that – in our actions and in our in-depth achievements – in our research, teaching and outreach programs – both nationwide and worldwide. I would say, one among many things – 'The real secret is to re-discover our strength, and project that in all angles'."
Q. What should be your vision for the next 15 years?
Dir.: "We should fully explore in establishing connectivity with our worldwide alumni network. There has to be face-to-face interactions and establishing interconnectedness with its best alumnus worldwide holding many important positions, this pool needs to be roped in. If we are not able to reach out within our own resources that we had once shaped and created in-house, then the vision is not going to work out. But I am hopeful."
